2019 Summer Camps

Mix up your summer routine with Igimo Art Camps!

Loving art and can’t get enough? Then get out of the house this summer and join us for a variety of weeklong, themed art parties. Explore creative ideas and materials for drawing, painting, and sculpting, hand-made crafts, and more. Each day will begin with a guided step-by-step drawing or painting lesson based on a variety of themes including animals, landscapes, still life, architecture, and more. Students will learn basic art principles of drawing, painting, color mixing, perspective and composition. Acrylic paint, oil pastel, watercolor, clay, charcoal and colored pencils are some of the media to be explored. Art supplies included, dress to get messy and bring a light snack.

Amazon Adventures

Young artists will delight in exploring the layers of the rainforest, from the forest floor to the canopy, learning about plants, animals, birds and people. We’ll draw an ocelot and a baby sloth, make clay coil pots, rattles and masks, create pastel resist drawings depicting the brilliant hues of Amazonian birds and so much more! Don’t miss this journey!

Cartoon & Clay Creations

Animation here we come! Learn about cartooning and animation from basic drawing techniques to expression, movement and action. We will draw some classic characters from films and comics and develop our own creations too. We’ll look into the world of Manga and sculpt action figures out of polymer clay. Lots of fun!

Land of Camelot

Dragons, castles, knights, princesses and royalty spark imagination and creativity in this exciting theme to inspire young artists. Come explore the world of medieval times and learn about interesting traditions and beliefs of one of the most fascinating historic periods. You’ll even design your own coat of arms.

Kids Carpentry – Masters of Art

Students will start the week learning the safe and proper way to use hand tools in the creation of their own artistic masterpieces. We will teach techniques borrowed from the master works of world class artists. You can expect to see Self Portraits Picasso style, Kahloesque folk art and Pollock like splatterings. This class is a partnership with Kids Carpentry.

Under the Sea

Students will dive into the many strange and wonderful sea creatures and plants that live in the salty depths of our global waters before constructing their own aquatic creations. We’ll explore the wildlife and habitat of Pacific reefs, the Cayman Islands, the Pacific Ring of Fire and the Red Sea and create drawings, paintings and functional art pieces for both indoor and outdoor use. You may become a marine biologist by the end of this underwater adventure!

Kids Carpentry – Framed in Art

Students will start the week learning the safe and proper way to use hand tools in the creation their own frames and structures to hold all kids of artwork. Project selections include Picture Frames, Decorated Mirrors, Curio Boxes and Mosaics. This class is a partnership with Kids Carpentry.
